On my school PC I wouldn't have been able to use the above line. The reason why it only works on a certain PC is because of the first part. Here's the reasoning I jotted down for why the path doesn't work and why it's uniqueĮxample path that works for my PC - C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe
So now I've told you why the patch wouldn't work. Sometimes the link isn't correct, it isn't the version of minecraft. But it seems that the link in "Executable Java File" in the client is the problem. Guess what? This time I didn't have java 8. This problem still happens sometimes! The day I fixed up forge on my minecraft for my brand new PC, with the latest launcher, It did the same thing. This is written a long time after the original thread, but I wrote down what I needed to solve it then.
